Simplicity Is (Apparently) Essential So Much For That Idea...
|
Well, that lasted long. By 'that', of course, I'm referring to the 'DD&DD' BlogSpot page that got all of 3 posts in two months. I'm sure no one was surprised.
As is no doubt apparent, I'm largely uninterested in updating websites with any regularity these days. I'm sure it's just a phase, of course, I've gone through such dry spells before. But looking back, it's been two years since I had anything reassembling regular activity, which would be, of course, posting the pages of chapter 3 of Never-Forever. Since then content has been sparse at best, and non-existent at worst. I'm not sure when this will change.
Well, it's not entirely true that I haven't been doing anything online. I've gotten very involved in a writing community and have, since ending Chapter 3 of Never-Forever, written somewhere in the vicinity of 490,000 words of finalized prose. Wikipedia says a 'novel' is somewhere between 60,000 and 200,000 words. If that's true, I've written 8 short novels or two Epics and a middling-length novel worth of material. I just wish any of it was publishable and not fanfiction, which is in violation of copywright to profit from.
The issue, of course, is that all of that writing and content is not here, it's elsewhere, on other sites designed for it. Here there is nothing but my webcomic. Well, then, what's the point of all this flexibility and nonsense if it only really serves the needs of a single comic with limited updates?
None, is my thinking.
So, I imagine things will change in the future again. Turning this site into more of a content aggregate. There are RSS feeds and other such ways of pulling the content from the other places I post to, and I think I'll just wipe clean this website and put up a simple design that collects my thoughts from across the interwebs. That way this site will still be useful (it'll keep people from having to find me on DeviantArt or LiveJournal or wherever) but will ultimately require limited direct updating.
I do want to stress, again, that Never-Forever is not done, and will never be done as long as I still breathe. For better or for worse, it is my universe, and the only thing that is completely *MINE* and fully capable of being profited from. Even as I spend my days and nights working on other things, Never-Forever continues to grow in the back of my mind, waiting for the day it will break out and be available for all the world to see...
Until then, I just have to be patient.

Well, the issue isn't that there is no audience, just that there are no updates. Its' better if everything is condensed, both for me and for you.
There'll still be some sort of comments or forum section, though, I imagine.
